This pathing slab had lifted and was being a trip hazard so it has now been removed and tarmaced over. Not only does this look incongruous with the path, the tarmac is now covering the base of the young tree with was only put in last year. This will probably kill the tree if left as it is. The tree need what little soil and root growth there is. Please remove the tarmac from the base of the tree and ideally replace the pathing slab so it matched the rest of the foot path.
